Media Walls & Panelling Perth

A well-crafted media wall or panelled feature transforms a living space. Marshall & Co. designs and builds bespoke joinery solutions that are built into the room, not placed against it.

Built Into the Room, Not Just Added

The difference between a media wall that looks designed and one that looks assembled is how it's built into the room. Lee Marshall builds media walls that account for the architecture around them — whether as a standalone feature or as part of a full home renovation, including ceiling height, alcoves, chimney breasts, and the proportions of the space, which all factor into how the unit is designed.

Integrated lighting, concealed cable management, floating shelves, cabinet storage, and fire surrounds are all available within the design. The brief is set early and the joinery is crafted to it exactly, meaning no last-minute adjustments on site because something wasn't measured properly.

Interior panelling, whether Shaker-style dado panels, full-height fluted panels, or custom batten designs, follows the same principle. This work often complements a kitchen renovation or bathroom renovation where panelling forms part of the wider scheme. Every profile, spacing, and depth is agreed in advance and executed to a standard you can feel with your hand.

Get in Touch
What is a media wall?
A media wall is a built-in feature wall designed to house a television, fire, shelving, and associated storage in a single integrated unit. They can be as simple or as elaborate as the space and budget allow, and are fully bespoke to the room.
Can a media wall incorporate a fireplace?
Yes. Incorporating an electric or bioethanol fire into a media wall is very popular and we build these regularly. The fire unit is recessed into the structure and surrounded by the finished wall material, creating a clean, seamless look.
What materials are used for a media wall?
Media walls are typically constructed from a timber stud frame clad in MDF, with the finished surface in paint, panelling, stone effect tiles, or plaster. The material choice depends on the desired aesthetic and budget. We work to the specification you have in mind.
How long does a media wall take to build?
Most media wall projects are completed within two to four days. More complex builds involving plastering, tiling, or additional joinery may take a little longer. A timeline is agreed before work starts.
Can you hide cables and sockets inside the wall?
Yes. Concealing cables, HDMI runs, and sockets within the structure is a key part of the build. We plan the cable routing at the design stage so everything is hidden and the finished wall is clean with no visible wiring.
Does a media wall require any building work or structural changes?
Not usually. Media walls are typically non-structural and built in front of an existing wall. If the project involves creating a recess into a chimney breast or removing a section of wall, structural considerations will be discussed at the consultation stage.
Can you add wall panelling to other rooms too?
Yes. We carry out wall panelling in hallways, bedrooms, dining rooms, and staircases as well as living rooms. Panelling styles range from traditional dado and picture rail configurations to modern ribbed or fluted designs.
