On the Tay North of Perth

Stanley was built as a planned mill village in the late eighteenth century. Stanley Mills on the River Tay is now a National Trust for Scotland site, one of the most complete surviving examples of a water-powered cotton mill in Europe. The mill workers' cottages and Victorian terraces built alongside it still form the core of the village. These are stone-built properties with original features: slate roofs, sandstone walls, timber joinery that in some cases has not been touched since it was installed. They need a contractor who understands older construction.

Lee works in Stanley on the same north-of-Perth circuit as Bankfoot and Luncarty. The village sits about eight miles from Perth along the Tay, and the drive is straightforward. He applies the same level of scrutiny to a Stanley property as to anything in the city, examining the specific building before committing to a price.
