The older streets around Kinnoull Hill and Bridgend carry solid stone construction with the specifics that come with it: lime mortar, uneven floor levels, lath and plaster ceilings, and roof timbers that were cut and fitted by hand. He knows what he is looking for before the first chisel goes in.
