Crieff's older buildings carry a character that reflects a prosperous Perthshire market town. James Square at the town centre is surrounded by Victorian stone, and the residential streets stretching up towards Ferntower Road and Tom na Moan Road have a good mix of stone-built villas and period terraces. These buildings have lime mortar in the walls and original joinery throughout, both of which require understanding rather than brute-force renovation.
